FROM MY DESIGN TO YOUR ARTWORK

Kinusaiga is as much about the process as the finished piece. There’s something deeply satisfying about watching a design come together, one piece of fabric at a time.

It’s slow, hands-on and surprisingly calming. You simply follow the pattern, work at your own pace, and watch your artwork take shape.

I create the design. You create the artwork.

And the best part? You get to say, “I made that.”

THE DESIGN

Mehwar means axis or centre point.

The design is built around a central motif, with geometric forms radiating outward to create symmetry, movement and balance in the shape of a beautiful flower.

Inspired by the geometry found in Islamic and South Asian decorative art, Mehwar brings these patterns into a contemporary textile artwork.

The design was drawn and developed by hand by Studio Saba, then carefully translated into a Kinusaiga pattern.

CAREFULLY CURATED, FROM START TO FINISH

Every Kinusaiga kit has been developed in the Studio Saba workshop.

The design began as a hand-drawn composition on paper. The fabrics were selected specifically for this artwork. The embellishments were chosen to complement the design. And every tool in the premium kit was selected to make the process easier and more enjoyable.

If you choose a kit that includes the tools, keep them and use them for your next Studio Saba Kinusaiga project.

That means your first complete kit gives you the foundation to keep creating without having to purchase the same tools every time.

Future designs can then be purchased with materials only or design only, depending on what you already have.
